NYX Micro Brow in Ash Brown compared to Anastasia Brow Wiz

NYX Micro Brow/Anastasia Brow Wiz comparison. NYX retails for $10. Anastasia retails for $21

Brand new Anastasia Brow Wiz fully twisted up. I was so surprised to see how little it comes with.

Anastasia in Soft Brown / Nyx Micro Brow in Ash Brown

Similar packaging

Both come with a spoolie.

Comparable pencil shape.

Shades appear more of a lighter brown swatched.

I recently repurchased by favorite eyebrow pencil from Anastasia in soft brown. I have used the Anastasia brow wiz for over one year. I absolutely love it. It allows me to create a perfect brow that looks natural. Just for kicks, I twisted a brand new pencil just to see how much product it actually came with. I was so surprised to see how little product there was. Last year alone, I purchased 6 brow pencils from Anastasia. One pencil lasts me about 2 months because I use it every day.

I knew I needed to find a 'dupe' for the pencil. I looked online and found that people compared the NYX brow pencil to the Anastasia Brow Wiz. I purchased mine at ULTA for $9.99. I purchased it in the shade Ash Brown. It was the most comparable shade to 'Soft Brown'. I have dark dark dark brown hair/black hair. Although the eyebrow pencil appears more brown, it actually blends in nicely and gives me a 'dark brown' eyebrow shade.

The NYX Micro Brow is very easy to use and allows me to fill my eyebrows with a natural look. The spoolie itself it great too. Anastasia's spoolie is definitely better but both allow me to brush my brows and blend the pencil. In my opinion, I find the Micro Brow to have a dry formula. I like the dry formula because it allows me create an eyebrow shape I like. A creamier formula does not look as natural IMO. Anastasia has a dry formula too but definitely glides on better when I use it.

Longevity: I wore the NYX micro brow for one week straight. I noticed that it does not have the same lasting power as the Anastasia Brow Wiz. It is able to last about 7-8 hours on me before it starts to look like it is fading away. I work 12 hour shifts on the weekends and I notice by the end of my shift, my eyebrows don't look as good as it did when I first applied the pencil. Anastasia Brow Wiz is able to last on its own for 12+ hours. I do have the Anastasia Brow Pomade in Soft Brown. On days where I need my eyebrows to be bullet proof, I will use the pomade along either pencil and it definitely increases the longevity of my eyebrows.

Anastasia is still my favorite eyebrow pencil of ALL time, however, it is so expensive to keep purchasing over and over again. Anastasia is a trusted product for me. I will continue to purchase it but now that I have found a cheaper alternative, I have something I can use on days where I don't work as many hours in a day or if I'm just running out doing errands. I will definitely use the Anastasia Brow Wiz for special occasions and days where I need my eyebrows to last. The NYX Micro Brow is a great alternative to the Anastasia Brow Wiz and I highly recommend it as a cheaper option.

Hope this was helpful. Post any questions below.

Alexander Wang - Fumo Large Zip-Around Wristlet Photos

Fumo Wristlet - Alexander Wang - Retail: $225 (Neiman Marcus)

Size Comparison to the iPhone 5s.

Black Leather - Rose Gold Hardware

Authenticity Card

This zipper pocket is on both sides.

Love the zipper.

Four slots for cards.

Cards go in vertically. Four main slots for cards. Center I use for cash or extra cards.

I put my iphone in the pocket.

One Stud. So cute!

I have been lusting over anything Alexander Wang for years. At one point, I really wanted to get this wristlet just to hold me over until I can get my dream bag from this designer. On our recent trip to NYC, my boyfriend took me to the Alexander Wang flagship store in SOHO and he got me my dream handbag.  Suddenly, I was on an Alexander Wang high!

Neiman Marcus had a sale where if you spent $200 or more, you would get $50 off your purchase (the deal has now ended). I knew this was my opportunity to grab the wristlet from Alexander Wang.

This wristlet is a lot bigger than I thought it was (this is a good thing). I thought it was going to be much smaller. It's just as big as my entire hand and is definitely larger than my iPhone 5s. There is room for four cards. I put my driver's license in one and the remaining three slots are for credit cards. In the center is some cash and misc. cards.

There is a side pocket on the inside where I keep my phone. I suppose you can keep your phone in the center slot where I kept my cards but I felt that was a little too close to my credit cards. I'm always afraid of my phone demagnetizing my cards.

The leather is beautiful. I loved the pebbled texture. It'll keep it free from scratches. The hardware is in rose gold. My handbag is black with pale gold hardware, but I didn't mind it being different. This wristlet can be used all the time. I can definitely use it on its own without having to carry my bag.

Along with my cards and cell phone, I can definitely fit my Christian Dior Lip Balm, a few other make up items, and my car keys.

I am absolutely in love with my new wristlet!

Dior Creme De Rose Lip Balm - NOT DISCONTINUED

I was worried when I heard that my all time favorite lip balm was "getting discontinued." I immediately felt the need to buy another one when I already had two on hand at home. I emailed Dior through their website and I was informed that it is not being discontinued. Now that rumor is squashed.

Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap - Castile Soap - BEAUTY BLENDER CLEANSER DUPE

Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap - Pure Castile Soap with Target's Up & Up Soap Case

Retails for $4.69 at Target.

Made with pure organic ingredients.

Front of Soap

Back of Soap

Before using the Dr. Bronner Castile Soap
After! So easy to use and definitely cleaned up my beauty blender great.

I was on Pinterest a few weeks ago and was searching for ideas to clean my apartment. I stumbled upon a picture of this soap that claimed it was a dupe for the Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser. For under $5, I knew I wanted to try it. After reading reviews online and watching YouTube videos, I was convinced and went right over to Target to try and find it. I found it in the beauty aisle where they keep all their organic products. As soon as I smelled the soap, I knew I had to get it. It smells just like the Beauty Blender Cleanser.

One thing I love about it is that it is made with all organic ingredients that is certified fair trade. It literally is a 'good soap'.

When I got home, I quickly took pictures for my blog and tried it out. I took all of my dirty Beauty Blenders, Real Technique Sponges, and all of my dirty brushes. This worked great! I couldn't believe how easy it was to use. I do recommend getting a soap case just to keep it sanitary and easy to store.

I do think it is comparable to the Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser, if not better. The Beauty Blender Cleanser comes in 1oz. while the Dr. Bronner Magic Soap comes with 5 oz. of product. This is a no brainer. The Dr. Bronner soap works as effectively as the Solid Cleanser, less expensive, and comes with more product. Choosing this over the beauty blender solid cleanser is definitely a no brainer. Try it out! I'm sure you'll love it.

Don't get me wrong, I really do like the Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser but it really is too expensive for me and my budget to keep repurchasing it every two-three months. Read my original review on the cleanser [here]

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC20, NC25, NW25

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer ($20)

NC20, NC25, NW25

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer is my favorite concealer of all time. I've used this concealer for a little over 2 years and purchased a few shades over time. It lasts all day and does not crease. I wear this concealer under my eyes. I apply with my fingers and blend with a Beauty Blender.

Now, why do I have three? I couldn't decide on a shade that worked best for me. I initially tried NW25 because I used this shade in the Studio Finish Concealer. It worked well but I found that it was  a little darker than the studio finish concealer. I went to MAC to try to find another shade when I ran out of the NW25 and the MAC sales associate recommended I try NC20. NC20 is great to highlight under the eyes but it was just a tad bit too light. Finally, I decided to try NC25 and it matches just right. Perfect under the eyes and goes perfectly with all of my foundations. For reference I wear NC30 in their Studio Fix Foundation.

This has been a great concealer to use. I like 'fuss free' make up. When I use this concealer, I don't have to worry about it. All shades I chose work well. They vary slightly but NC25 works best for me and what I want to use it for. It conceals under my eyes and adds a little coverage. If I want an extra highlight then I will use NC20. If I wear concealer and a powder foundation only, then I'll choose to wear NW25.

I highly recommend this concealer. It works well and never fails me.

Products I've Used Up - Product Empties (in the past few months)

I bought this foundation in 2012 and just finished it earlier last month (August 2014). All in all a great foundation. I would definitely repurchase this foundation in the future. I just have to finish all of my foundations I have now before I think about buying anything else. This foundation was in the shade 5.0 which I thought was great for NC35 skin tones. For an NC30 skin tone, I will try the shade 4.0, which I think may suit me better.

NARS Powder Foundation in Beach

Finished it completely but the edges of the powder cracked. I wasn't able to use it anymore.
Great powder foundation! Worked well with the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. It applied smoothly and evenly on the skin. I would definitely repurchase in the future.

Marc Jacobs Highliner in Th(INK)
I love this eyeliner and have already repurchased another one in the same color (among other colors). I highly recommend this eyeliner! Read my post on the eyeliners [here]

Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder

I really enjoyed this powder and have already repurchased another one in the shade Nude. Nude is best suited for NC30 skin tones as a powder to set liquid foundation. This powder is great for every day. I would not recommend it in flash photography because it gave an awful white cast.

I got this as a free sample from Ulta. It worked well but it was not my favorite. I didn't like the smell and it didn't really remove all of the make up from my brushes or my beauty blenders.

Other items not shown completed:

- Anatasia Brow Wiz: This is my favorite eyebrow pencil and continue to repurchase over and over again. Read my full review [here].

- Covergirl Outlast 3-in-1 foundation: This is one my all time favorite foundations. I continue to purchase this over and over again. Read my review [here].

Marc Jacobs Highliner - Bla(quer), Ro(COCOA), Th(INK), Plum(AGE) - Collective Review

Marc by Marc Jacobs Highliner ($25 each at Sephora, Marc Jacob stores, and Marc Jacobs online)

I purchased four colors.

Twist up pencil with a built in pencil sharpener.

Ro(cocoa), Th(ink), Plum(age), Bla(quer)
Retails for $25 each.

Marc Jacobs' highliner pencils are my absolute favorite eyeliner for the waterline. The pencils have a creamy formula that lasts all day. It does not budge or fade away from the waterline. I usually wear this eyeliner on a daily basis. It has replaced all of my eyeliners I had used in the past.

I had collected four colors over the past year. I love each one equally. Although they are different colors, they have a similar factor -- they all appear black or dark on the waterline. I like the fact that the colorful shades give a hint of color but remains to appear black. Some people may complain of it because what's the point of having a colorful eyeliner that doesn't look like the color. To me, it makes a subtle difference that I appreciate.

I will continue to purchase these in the future. I highly recommend these eyeliners if you're looking for an eyeliner with excellent staying power. Trust me, it lasts all day!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara - Review

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Duo Set ($23)

I originally got a deluxe sample as a 100-point perk from Sephora a few months ago. Read my initial review [here].

This has been the best mascara for my stubborn lashes. I simply love the way this mascara makes my lashes look. The formula and the brush are a perfect combination. When I use this, I immediately see volume and length. I would normally have to use many coats of other mascaras just to get the results from using this mascara with one coat. The brush instantly clings to my lashes, which makes it a breeze to get an all over even coat.

I finished my deluxe sample and decided to buy the full size from Sephora. I found a set with a full size mascara and a travel size mascara for $23. The full size mascara itself retails for $23 so seeing this set made it a no-brainer to buy it.

This is hands down my favorite mascara of all time. I was surprised to see how heavy the tube is of the full size. I love how it's weighted. To me, products that have weight feels more luxurious. Is that just me? Regardless, I love the packaging and the product itself.

I highly highly highly recommend this mascara!
