I finished this foundation last Saturday. Finally! I bought this in March of 2013 and finally finished it January 2014. Read my thoughts on this product here.
So proud of myself.
Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayon retails for $25
This eyeliner pencil has replaced my beloved MAC Graphblack eyeliner that I posted on a previous blogpost. I have tried another shade in this eyeliner in 'TH(INK)' and I loved it. For Christmas, I got my sister the shade in Blacquer. She loves it so much I decided to get one for myself. I purchased it at Sephora for $25.
This eyeliner lasts throughout the day and does not smudge. I can depend on this eyeliner through my long shifts at work or for clinical. For $25, I think it is worth it. I've tried my fair share of eyeliners in the past and this one has definitely gained my trust.
There is a sharpener at the bottom but I don't use it. I only use this eyeliner for my waterline and to tight line. I use a gel eyeliner for my everyday winged eyeliner look. For my lazy days where I don't want to wear heavy eyeliner, I just use this pencil for my waterline and to tight line.
I have been using this pencil consistently for the past month and I feel like I haven't used much of the product at all. The color itself is very black. I wouldn't say it's as black as Urban Decay's Perversion but to me that's fine. The Urban Decay eyeliners smudge on me so I prefer the Marc Jacobs 'high liner'.
You can buy it [here] at Sephora or on Marc Jacob's website [here]. I would repurchase this over and over and over again. (It is June 2014 and I recently purchased my second one! I plan to buy another one to have one as a back up).
An Urban Decay Naked Lipgloss!?!?! I was so excited when I heard about this so when it launched on the UD website a couple of weeks ago I knew I had to order one. Anything that Urban Decay releases in the 'NAKED' line, I know I have to try it. The Urban Decay website also had free shipping at the time. I only ordered one since they were $20 and I wasn't sure if how I would like it.
The packaging itself it beautiful. I like how the bottom of the lipgloss actually shows the actual product. This shade is in Walk of Shame. It is the lightest shade in the collection. It's a nice nude pink shade. It goes perfectly over any nude lipstick I have.
My favorite lip combination recently has been Urban Decay's Revolution Lipstick in Naked 2 and I apply Walk of Shame lipgloss over. I love the way it looks.
The one thing I did not like was the scent. It smells minty and it definitely caught me off guard. This lipgloss claims to have many different benefits to it. It's very hydrating on the lips and it isn't thick at all.
On the box it states, "It's a gloss like no other: creamy, shiny, intensely nourishing." I really agree with all of these claims. It continues on by stating, "We laced it with Hyaluronic Filling Spheres, vitamin E, avocado oil and shea butter to condition lips then added rose hip seed oil for an extra hit of vitamins." It is nourishing, definitely. I just wonder what that smell is. I'm not really a fan of it. The smell does linger but it goes away (or I just get used to the smell throughout the day).
All in all, I really do like it! I would definitely repurchase it. Urban Decay did a great job. I do plan on getting another one. I do want to get one in Nooner. It looks like a really pretty shade that I would wear.
Are there shades that you like?
I love the new packaging. I didn't really like the old swivel mirror but this new powder is awesome.
I was watching YouTube videos and was shocked to hear that my beloved Maybelline Dream Matte Powder was discontinued. A few months ago, I bought a back up. Little did I know that they were going to dc them. I absolutely loved that powder and it has been so dependable over the years. When I heard they replaced it with this Dream Wonder Powder, I knew I had to try it. Though I am really sad about the Dream Matte Powder, I actually really like the Dream Wonder Powder. The flashback in photos isn't that bad and is actually better than the Dream Matte. The powder feels lightweight and the color is very close to the Dream Matte Powder. The color actually seems to suit me better but appears a shade too dark but it actually works.
I wore it over my new foundation love (Estee Lauder Double Wear in 3W1 Tawny - blog post coming soon). The powder over the EL Double Wear looked really nice.
I don't have really oily skin but I notice throughout the day my nose will look a little oily. This powder controls it well just like the dream matte powder.
I applied this powder with the Real Techniques Powder Brush and it applied the powder evenly all over my face.
I am so excited about this powder. I went to Target today and picked it up for $7.99 [here]. It is more expensive than the Dream Matte Powder but no big deal. I like drugstore powders better than most high end powders anyway (other than my holy grail MAC Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus).
Hope you try this out! Let me know how you like it.
I completed the powder! I was so sad when I hit pan a few months ago but it's nice to know I finished a product. It lasted about 4 months. I really like this powder. I chose the color Sandy Beige and it was a good match for my NC30 skin tone. I do want to try the shade in Nude just to see how it compares. All in all, this powder was really good. It kept my face matte and my foundation looked great throughout the day. It definitely helped keep my foundation looking fresh all day. I used it over all of my foundations and it worked well with all of them. Can't wait to get my hands on another one!

Dior Creme De Rose Lip Balm (Retails for $27)
I love the simple packaging.
No color pay off so don't expect that. I wasn't expecting it but the color of the balm itself is beautiful.
I purchased my Christian Dior Creme De Rose Lip Balm from a Sephora store for $27 (~$28 with tax). Luckily my Sephora had a bunch in stock. I always check the Sephora website to make sure my local store has it in stock.
I couldn't wait until I got home to try it. When I got to my car I immediately tried it. From the first moment I put it on, I knew I would love it. The first thing I noticed, however, was the smell. I am not a fan of scented makeup products in general. This product smells like roses. The scent was kind of strong for my taste. I apply this product with my finger and apply an ample amount on my lips. I immediately noticed how soft my lips felt. The balm itself did not feel thick but my lips felt moisturized. I would normally put a lot of Carmex on because of how dry my lips were. I had cracks on the corners of my lips, which I absolutely hate. I could not believe how quickly this lip balm helped soothe the cracks.
After using this for a few days, I noticed that I got through a top layer of the product. Now the balm seems easier to get to. I do find that I need to clean my finger after application so I don't get it everywhere. I would say this is something that I would apply first thing in the morning and then again at night. Today, I went to my first clinical shift for the quarter. I applied the lip balm at 4:30 a.m. and did not reapply at all today. I didn't feel the need to reapply the lip balm until I got home at the end of the shift. I feel like it is a long wearing product.
I did not notice a plumping action from this lip balm but I did notice how smooth my lips appeared. I didn't notice any cracks on my lips whatsoever. I am absolutely impressed with this product. I would repurchase this again and again and again.
I hope you try it out! I really love this product.

I chose the shade 842. It is the closest to my NC30 skintone.
This has a thick consistency.
This is definitely medium to full coverage.
I've been hearing how awesome this foundation is but I always stayed away because everyone says that it isn't good for those who have dry skin. I have dry skin and I can see why people say that. This foundation gives off a matte finish. With foundations that claim to be long-wearing, I tend to have bad luck with them because of my dry skin. Regardless, I decided to try this out for myself. Surprisingly enough, it is working out for me.
I've had this for about a week. I purchased mine at Target and chose the shade 842 medium beige. This shade seems like to closest match for my MAC NC30 skin tone (definitely NC30 and probably would be too light for an NC35). With reviews online, I was hesitant to buy it because people said it was really pink. To me, it doesn't look pink at all. It does apply lighter when I initially put it on. After a few minutes, I do notice that it does oxidize but not much. It still matched my skin tone well.
The application of this foundation was so tricky. I tried several brushes. I used my trusted ELF Flat top brush. Didn't work. I used my Real Techniques expert face brush. Didn't work. At this point, I was starting to give up on this foundation. Whenever the brushes failed to blend out this foundation, I always used my fingers. My fingers gave the foundation a great finish BUT how annoying would it be to apply this with my hands? I dislike the mess of using my fingers to apply foundation. Finally, I used my Original Beauty Blender. I don't know why I didn't use this first. The beauty blender or the Real Techniques miracle sponge is THE only product (other than my fingers) that applies this foundation so flawlessly. It was so easy to use and gave a beautiful even finish to my skin using this foundation. This foundation does not blend easily but the beauty blender saved me from returning it.
This foundation is definitely medium to full coverage. Concealer is NOT necessary but for me I still choose to wear concealer over my under eye circles. Not necessary but I just do anyway. One day, I forgot to put on concealer and I actually didn't mind. My skin looked great.
The formula sucks for blending with a brush BUT the finish looks amazing. This foundation is definitely long-wearing and does not rub off of my nose! I am excited about this because most foundations that claim to be long-wearing rubs off my nose and looks awful.
This foundation stays on for hours! I put on this foundation at 6:30 a.m. in the morning before work and by the end of the day (5pm), my face looks amazing. I also use this foundation at my other job at night and I'm literally running around everywhere. It stays on throughout the night and still looks great.
This foundation did not break me out at all. I really really love this product. All in all, I do love this foundation. Such a great purchase and I'm glad I tried it. I plan on wearing this foundation on days where I have a full day at school and then have to go to work. I want to get another one already as a backup just in case my shade is sold out in stores. This is a really good product. Thumbs up Covergirl!
Hope it worked out for you. I'd try it if you were questioning about getting it. It's one of my all time favorites.
