500 Point Perk Nars Cult Favorites

Sephora Beauty Insider

I really love the black packaging.

Each item came individually in packaging.

Larger Than Life Eyeliner in Via Veneto. Size comparison to a MAC Lipstick.

I've tried this eyeliner before and I love it!

Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien

I really love the Satin Lip Pencils from NARS. Not too sure about this color but it's really nice swatched.

Blush in Deep Throat

It is so tiny. I don't know how I"m going to use this with a brush but I love the shade.

Deep Throat by NARS.

I've been waiting to use my 500 point perk on a NARS set. I think last year they came out with a 500 point perk with NARS but I didn't have enough points back then. When I saw the email from Sephora, I knew I had to order it. It's still available now so I'd definitely recommend using your points for it.

The eyeliner is perfect for on the go touch ups because of its size. The blush is so tiny and cute (similar size to an eyeshadow). I have this blush already in the NARS GUY BOURDIN palette but I could always use this when I travel.

The lip pencil is a really nice nude/mauve, my lips but better color. It doesn't have a sweet smell like the other lip pencil I have but it's still nice.

Also, the eyeshadow base came in a sample packet. Not sure if I'm going to use it because I don't wear eyeshadow (except on special occasions).

All in all, I think this 500-point perk set was great! I'd definitely get it. NARS is one of my all time favorite makeup brands so I couldn't resist.

UPDATE: No longer available :(

Kat Von D - Lock It Tattoo Foundation - M54 - Finished

I finished another foundation! Is it weird that I feel accomplished LOL... It took me a while but when I saw I was making a dent in this foundation, I thought it would be good to finally finish it.

All in all I think it was a good foundation. Would I repurchase? I don't think I would. I prefer Covergirl's 3-in-1 Stay Fabulous Foundation in 842. I think that foundation lasts longer and has full coverage.

Kat Von D's Lock it Tattoo Foundation does not last 24-hours, let alone 8 hours. I would wear this on my 8+ hour shifts and it would look horrible after a few hours. I have dry skin to normal skin and it did not work so well. When I would apply my eyeliner, I felt like the foundation moved and never really set. I did have to set it with powder every time because if I didn't, it would not last more than a couple of hours.

I had this foundation in M54, which matched my NC30 skin tone well. I thought it was a tad bit dark because it oxidized but it matched well.

Read my original post [here] with swatches.

MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural (New Packaging)

I went to MAC the other day. I haven't shopped at a MAC store in so long. I noticed that they changed the packaging on the MAC MSFs and decided to get one. This powder has been my go to setting powder since 2009. It's great for photos and keeps my makeup looking fresh all day. When I first started using this product, the MSF was around $25-26. The price has gone up over the years. The last one I purchased was $29-$30. Now it's $32.

I was told that the product itself has not changed. Shades are still the same and the formulation has stayed the same. The only difference is the packaging. Previously, there was not a mirror but instead there was a clear top. It still has its dome shape but now it has a mirror. The packaging itself it bigger but I enjoy it. The mirror is convenient. I usually carry the powder in my makeup bag but hated how there wasn't a mirror to use on the go.

It also has a magnetic closure, which is really nice. There isn't an annoying tab to push like the Studio Fix Powder has. All in all, I really am loving the new packaging.

I wear the shade Medium Plus and wear a MAC NC30.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal Review and Photos

Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal

I love the packaging. The rubber part reminds me of the NARS packaging but it seems easier to clean.

The packaging feels so luxurious. I also like how it can lay flat.

This picture shows the actual product better than the Sephora one so hope it helps.

It's a pretty champagne shade.

blended out.

OMG, where have I been. This product has been talk about for a long time and it has been sold out on Sephora's website for a while. Try and see if it's available or sign up to get an alert when it comes back in stock [here]. I went into Sephora and saw it in store and fell in love. I swatched it and it looked so beautiful. I wear this as a highlight on my cheeks. I don't normally wear blush but I do apply this on top of my bronzer. It adds such a pretty highlighted effect. I first applied it with my fingers and then blended it out with a brush. I've also applied it on my cheeks with my fingers and blended it out with a beauty blender. Both work great.

I love this and if you're looking for a pretty highlighter, be sure to try it! It's so pretty in person. The pictures I've shown will give you a good idea of how it looks like. As far as the consistency, it's very creamy yet feels like a powder. It has a very unique texture.

It retails for $38 at Sephora stores. I highly recommend it!

Marc Jacobs Face II (Face 2) Brush Review and Photos

Marc Jacobs Face II Brush Retails for $48 at Sephora

Beautiful and chic MJ packaging.

Similar packaging to the Highliners by MJ.

Beautiful brush and it has a good weight to it.

It's tapered. This is the side view of the brush.

Back View

I was on the hunt for my beloved Nars Sheer Glow foundation at Sephora to use with my store credit but it was no where to be found. While shopping around, I stumbled upon this beauty. I immediately was intrigued because of how soft the brush was. It is honestly the softest brush I have ever felt... like ever! I decided for $48, I should try it out. First off, I just wanted to say that I already love this brush so so much.

This foundation brush works well with my Nars Sheer Glow foundation very very well. It applies my foundation evenly without any streaks. It gives my foundation a similar airbrushed look that my beauty blender does. What is really good about this brush is that I don't have to replace it every few months like the beauty blender. It really packs on the foundation so I don't feel like I have to use as much product. The brush also has a great weight to it. I feel like I have a better handle on makeup application.

I used the beauty blender solid cleanser to clean the brush. I must say that it took a few times for it to get completely clean. I cleaned the brush after I applied my makeup that morning. This foundation brush is not the easiest to clean but the beauty blender cleanser cleaned it very well. Also, it didn't shed when I cleaned it. I have heard the the Marc Jacobs logo will fade over time and that is already annoying to know lol. I hope it doesn't but I know with most brushes, the logos do fade away. This happened with all of my MAC brushes.

I thought this brush was going to be similar to the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush but no... this is so much better. It's bigger than the expert face brush and it is more dense! The expert face brush applies so streaky. I just stopped using it all together.

see the major size difference?

Side view.

All in all, I would say this brush has been perfect for my liquid foundation. I love the way it applies and the brush itself is so luxurious. I really really really wanted to get the Marc Jacobs Bronzer Brush but for $78 I can't get myself to buy it. It's a big fluffy brush that I would love to have but in the near future. For now, I'll stick to my Face II brush. I was going to get the Face I brush but this one had better reviews. The face II brush is primarily used for liquid foundation, which is the reason why I bought it.

Let me know how you like it :)
