NC30 Foundation Matches for Estee Lauder Double Wear, NARS Sheer Glow, and Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation

I've done a previous post on this before but I wanted to do an update with more shades that I have been using from different brands. I compare these to a MAC NC30 for reference. I don't really wear MAC's Studio Fix Fluid anymore because I found so many foundations that work better with my skin and has what I want in a foundation.

Estee Lauder Double Wear in 2W2 Rattan. I originally purchased this in the shade 3W1 Tawny. I really liked it at first but I felt like it oxidized, which made me look to have a deeper skin tone than I truly have. Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation is everything I wanted MAC Studio Fix Fluid to be. It's long wearing, matches my skin well, and gives me a flawless finish. I like make up to be fuss free throughout the day. This foundation can withstand heat, humidity, and I feel like it's waterproof. I live on the east coast now and it's super hot and humid. This foundation can easily last all day. I can easily wear this for over 10 hours on a work day and it still looks great by the end of the day. Another plus to this foundation is that my boyfriend complimented my skin when I wore this. He even asked me what I was wearing on my face because it looked really good. Compliments like that makes me love it even more! It retails for $37. This could be my new favorite :)

NARS Sheer Glow in Stromboli has always been my go to shade in Sheer Glow. Works well. Always looks great. Read my review on it [here].

NARS Sheer Glow in Punjab. Since my beloved shade in Stromboli was sold out for a couple of months, I really needed to get another one ASAP. I decided to try another shade that has also been recommended for NC30 skin tones. Punjab may now be my absolute favorite shade for NARS Sheer Glow. I still love Stromboli (don't get me wrong) but this is just a tad bit lighter and blends well with my skin. I thought it was super light on me at first but it actually blends in nicely. Either Stromboli or Punjab work well for me. I still wear both shades and don't notice a difference. I tried Punjab in Sheer Matte and hated it. The matte formula is definitely NOT for anyone with DRY skin. The sales associate at Sephora said that I can use Sheer Matte in Punjab and it would well with my skin. Unfortunately, it did not work out for me. I should have known better.

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation in 842 Medium Beige. I have gone through two full bottles of this foundation this year alone. I originally got one in January and then another one a couple of months later. Now I have purchased my third one and it's been 6 months since I purchased my original one. Just yesterday, I bought another one as a back up. I think I go through this foundation quicker is because I use it most often. I use it for work, school, every day life, etc. I seriously love this foundation. It is the best foundation in the drugstore I have ever tried. It is hands down one of the best foundations I have ever used of all time. It's affordable, lasts ALL day, and looks flawless on the skin. This foundation applies well with the beauty blender or your fingers. I cannot use this with a brush because it just doesn't look right. I wouldn't wear this to special events only because I'm afraid of the flashback from the SPF that's in it but even with flash photography, it isn't too bad. For special events, I still prefer to wear my NARS Sheer Glow. It has a more natural finish that I appreciate more in photography. Read my original review on this foundation [here]. I can trust this foundation to last me all day.

I love to keep trying new foundations so if you have any suggestions for me let me know! I'm a MAC NC30 for reference.

  2. How can u wear stromboli as a great shade match and the covergirl in medium beige???? I'm just really shocked cos I have both and medium beige is like pink as on me! I want to love it so much but I just cannot pull off the shade. Stromboli is soooo yellow it makes me look jaundiced!! I hope you can enlighten me!
I also wear 202 and it's a pretty good match. Sometimes I think I should go darker but it seems like both shades are really similar.

    1. I have yellow undertones and it works well for me. More recently I have been using Punjab instead. Still yellow but not as much as Stromboli. Medium Beige in the covergirl foundation looks really light on me when I first apply it but oxidizes to a much suitable shade. I personally don't see pink when I use it but I guess it all depends on the different undertones. For me, it was definitely trial and error.

    2. Thanks for your reply. Perhaps in different countries they release different shades bit have the same shade names. I knkw that's a fact with loreal true match. W4 here isn't w4 in the states! Same name, different colours.

  4. I'm a MAC NC30, its pretty much a perfect match. Do you reckon Punjab or Stromboli would be best for me? Love these posts...its always so hard to figure out what colour you are, especially if you're buying online!!

    1. It would depend on how yellow your undertone is to be honest. I have a super strong yellow undertone. Stromboli is VERY yellow and it looks better when I'm a tad darker but not quite nc35. Nc30 is also a perfect match for me. Not too yellow. I reckon punjab would be too light for me as is double wear in 2w2. Hope that helps somewhat. Xx

    2. Forgot to say that I'd go for Stromboli if you are that perfectly matched to nc30 in studio fix. I mean, look at the bottles.

  8. This was so helpful! So, would you say that Nars Stromboli would suit my skin tone if I am currently Estee Lauder 'Tawny'?
Tawny is EVER SO SLIGHTLY lighter than my skin tone but its not that noticeable, with that in mind, Stromboli would be perfect???
