Maybelline The Nudes Palette

Maybelline - The Nudes Palette ($9.99 at Target)

On the back of the palette, it gives you ideas on how to use the palette as a quad, trip, or a duo.

12 eyeshadow shades with a mix of matte, sheen and shimmer

Swatched without a primer.

I really wanted to get the Naked 2 Basics palette last week but decided not to get it yet. While I was shopping at Target, the stumbled upon this eyeshadow palette for $9.99. I've been keeping my eye out for it since it was released but it was sold out wherever I was.

I've heard mixed reviews on this palette but I still wanted to try it. I honestly wasn't really impressed with the swatches because it looked chalky and didn't really show up on my skin. There are a few shades that are opaque and some are not.

This palette is great for the price but it isn't the best. I can create a similar look with this palette from my Naked palettes. The quality is definitely not up to par with the Naked palettes but it's great for the price.

Would I recommend it? I would only recommend it for those who do not own a nude palette already or for those who are just starting out with eyeshadow application. If you have the original Naked palette or the Naked Basics, I would skip out on this one.

Hope this helps.

Urban Decay - Naked Basics Palette Review

As you all may or may not know, there is a new Naked Basics Palette from Urban Decay that recently launched on the 19th of August. I don't have ALL of the Naked Palettes but I do have a select few that I love. More recently, I picked up the Naked Basics Palette. I was holding off buying this since it came out. I kept telling myself I didn't need it because I already had the Naked 1 and Naked 3 palettes.

I was definitely missing out. I bought this a couple of months ago and didn't touch it. I don't wear eyeshadow that often, which is why it was just collecting dust. With the recent launch of the new Naked 2 Basics Palette, I decided it was time to use the make up I have already.

This eyeshadow palette is all I ever need. I could have done without the other two Naked Palettes and would be content with just the Naked Basics.

I use the shade 'Foxy' all over the lid up to the brow bone. I use 'Naked 2' on the lid and add 'Faint' in the crease for subtle definition. I could totally just use 'Foxy' and 'Naked 2' and be good to go for a super natural look.

I love this palette so much and I could definitely use this on a daily basis (if I wore eyeshadow every day). I don't wear bright colors on the eyes so this palette is perfect for me. I'm basic lol I actually have been wearing this eyeshadow palette when I go to work on the weekends. It's super subtle but makes such a difference by giving my eyes more definition.

I am very interested in the Naked 2 Basics palette from the swatches I've seen online. Do I need it? Of course, not. I don't own the Naked 2 Palette. It's the only one I don't own. It didn't intrigue me when it came out a few years ago because of all the shimmery colors in it. Since the Naked 2 Basics is all matte shades, I definitely want to try it. Maybe after the hype has passed, I'll get it. As for now, I'll enjoy my Naked Basics :)

Anastasia Contour Kit - Worth the hype?

This contour kit has been coveted for months. At every release, it sold out almost immediately. A lot of my friends were posting pictures on Instagram and Facebook and they really loved it. I knew I had to have it. When Sephora had it online, I immediately bought it. It is sold out now and I'm not sure when it will be back in stock. I had this since April and actually just started using it recently. It retails for $40 and I think that's a great deal.

I used the middle contour shade and the middle highlight shade the most. Definitely use a light hand when you use it because it's extremely pigmented. I use the NARS Ita contour brush for contouring my face.

It's a great palette to have but it isn't a necessity. I honestly don't need all of these colors to contour/highlight my face on a daily basis. I am not a makeup professional nor do I wear heavy make up every day. If you missed out on this palette, don't worry about it. I would recommend finding a bronzer and a highlighter that you do like because having all of these shades are not necessary. I reach for my individual bronzers and highlighters more regularly than I do with this palette.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I have it but it hasn't been reached for very often.

Glam Glow YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment (0.5 oz)

Glam Glow Youth Mud

This is the 0.5 oz. Also comes in 1.7 oz.

Size Comparison

I tried the Super Mud Clearing Treatment in the past from samples I got from Sephora. I really liked it but splurging $69 on a face mask was not in the budget for me. My sister got me the Youth Mud Tinglexfoliate for my birthday!

The size is perfect. I use this once every other week just to exfoliate my skin. I have used it 4 times already and still have plenty left. I don't use it on my whole face. I use it on my nose and forehead only. I have dry skin so using an exfoliator helps smooth out my skin.

I really like how this face mask works. I can literally see every pore on my nose. It's disgusting but I'm happy to know that my skin is getting deeply cleaned. It leaves my skin feeling clean and much smoother.

I tend to use this after wearing liquid foundation for work on the weekends.

I really love this mask and plan to get it again when I run out. I really recommend trying the smaller size first to see if you like it or not.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Gel Highliner in RO(COCOA)

Marc Jacobs Ro(COCOA)

Just when I ran out of my favorite Marc Jacobs Highliner in TH(INK), my sister got me a new one in a new shade for my birthday (Thanks Sis). The shade she chose was RO(COCOA). It is described as a golden brown. I have never tried a brown eyeliner before so I wasn't sure what to think of it. When I tried it, I immediately fell in love with it! I knew I already loved the Marc Jacobs Highliners.

I have tried the eyeliners in Blacquer, Th(INK) and (Wave)length. There has not been one shade I haven't liked.

They retail for $25 and is sold exclusively at Sephora or on the Marc Jacobs website and stores.

One thing to know about these eyeliners is that they appear black on the waterline, regardless of what color you choose. It has a blackened effect in all of the shades. What's interesting and unique about this shade in particular is that is appears bronze on the waterline and then makes a distinct black line along the bottom lash line. Strange, I know but it has a nice effect on the eye.

This eyeliner lasts all day on the waterline. Marc Jacobs did an amazing job with these eyeliners and I will continue to buy them. They are the only eyeliners I use now on my waterline, simply because it lasts all day. I can trust this eyeliner to stay smudge-free all day until I decide to take it off.

Read my reviews on Blacquer [here] and Th(INK) [here].

Definitely try out these eyeliners! They are my absolute favorite <3
